INCLUSIVE FUN
Recreation Inclusion is an important option & choice for meeting the leisure needs of individuals with disabilities. Inclusion provides a person with a disability the opportunity to be included or “mainstreamed” in playgrounds or recreation department programs as they participate alongside their non-disabled peers.
The P&R Staff works closely with the participant & family to provide an enriching recreation experience in the least restrictive environment.
The Riverview Parks & Recreation Department strives for each participant to function at his / her highest level of ability. Benefits of participation include increased socialization & community awareness, development of new leisure skills, increased emotional wellbeing, increased self-esteem, all in a fun, safe and structured recreation environment.
Take time for fun & join today! You’ll find the benefits are endless!
