The purpose of the Parks & Recreation Department is to provide quality recreational and leisure opportunities for the enjoyment of the citizens of Riverview building community spirit and awareness.  Directly, this is accomplished through effective management of our parks, facilities, and open space.

Of all the departments within a municipality, the Parks & Recreation Department is the one that most binds and develops the individual identity of a community.  Priority is in providing open space, quality recreational facilities and programs that are essential for the emotional, physical and spiritual well being of the citizens of Riverview.
